James “Jim” Fasano was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and husband. Son to Vincent and Janet Fasano, Jim left this world after a 7-year battle of cancer and passed on June 27, 2024 at age of 59. He was born on April 16, 1965. Jim is a Montclair State University Alumni where he earned All American Honors and was inducted into the MSU hall of fame in 1999. He later continued his career at his alma-mater Bergenfield High School where he coached, taught, and lead students and faculty as the High School Principal for 14 years. Under his leadership, BHS received many national accolades for its excellence in education and athletics. This was more than a career for Jim; Bergenfield High School was one of his biggest loves and passions, leading him to coin the phrase “Every day is a great day to be a Bergenfield Bear”. His enthusiasm for life and infectious positivity was one of his most admirable and inspiring qualities, which held true until his very last moments. When he wasn’t working or supporting the school’s extracurricular activities, Jim spent his time golfing, at the beach, cheering on his favorite sports teams, or spending quality time with his family. Above all, his love for his family triumphed all his accomplishments. He was a beloved and outstanding father, to his three children, Julia, Jim, and Gianna. An incredible role model for his brothers, Vincent and Tom, and a fun, loving Uncle to his nieces and nephews. Jim wishes that in lieu of flowers, to donate via check made out to the Bergenfield Board of Education, C/O James Fasano It’s A Great Day To Be A Bear Scholarship, 225 W Clinton Ave, Bergenfield, NJ 07621. He will forever be in our hearts.
