James Frederic Hughes, age 83, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on December 29, 2024. Jim was born on January 11, 1942 to the late Abner and Anne Hughes in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Jim graduated from Tulane University with his Masters Degree in Accounting.

Jim enjoyed the beauty of flowers, shrubs, and growing figs. He also enjoyed being in nature and walking. He loved animals.

Jim also had a fondness for antique cars.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Naomi Hughes; his children, Michael David Hughes (Diane), Steven Hughes (Monica), Michael Patrick Hughes (Eileen), and Aline Hughes Thompson; his 8 grandchildren; his four great grandchildren; and his brother, Ken Hughes.

The celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075). Following the service, there will be an ice cream social at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim’s honor to Believers Baptist Fellowship or Children are People in Gallatin.
