James “Jimmy” E. Carroll, age 90, husband of Cleo Carroll, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at his home.
He was born on April 20, 1935 in Abbeville, South Carolina and was the son of the late Horace Carroll and Magnolia Graham Carroll. Jimmy worked in the textile mills and was later self-employed in lawn care service.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 39 years; his son, Brian Douglas Carroll (Brinda); his daughter, Donna Orr, Lisa Dianne Taylor; his step-sons, David English (Teresa), Mitchell English (Kim), Jason English (Stevie); his step- daughter, Wanda English; his grandchildren, Melony Rhodes (David), Andrew Carroll (Madeline), Jori Garland, Ryan Carroll, Hunter Jones (Breanna), Jeremy Alexander, Melissa Wyatt, David English, Jr. (Jennifer), Angela Vinson (Vernon), Victoria Joyce, Dylan English, Bryce English, Kynli English, Ryan English, Tori English, Randall Heaton, Stacy Hellams; his twenty eight great-grandchildren and his three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his son, James Gary Carroll; his step-sons, Bobby Dale English and Tony Curtis English; his brothers, Edward Carroll and Preston Carroll; his grandchildren, Kristi Couch and Jonathan Wayne English.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. David English, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends for 3:00 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
