James Verlon (Jimmy) Davis, Jr, 83, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his home. Jimmy was born in Holly Springs, South Carolina on November 12, 1941, a son of the late Marjorie (Emory) and James Verlon Davis, Sr. He was the husband of Melaine (Jackson) Davis. Jimmy is survived by a son, James "Jamey" Verlon Davis III and his wife Susan; a daughter, Sharon Davis Wells; two grandsons, Austin Wells and Hunter Wells and his wife Mykayla; a sister Margretha Stinson and her husband Jack; a nephew Clint Hoover; a great nephew Eli Hoover; two great nieces, Bailey Jolly and Whitney Partridge and her husband Dalton; and a great great nephew, Graycen Partridge.
He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and had retired from working in commercial construction.
The family will conduct a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Inman, South Carolina with Rev. Ben Whitmire and Mrs. Melaine Davis officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
Private burial will be in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Inman, South Carolina.
