James “Jimmy” Albert Richardson, age 61 of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Thursday, August, 7, 2025.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Terrell H. Richardson and Carolyn P. Richardson; and his sister, Cynthia Harris.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Julia Richardson; his children, Shelby and Ryan Richardson, Raquel, Julia and Jessica Encalade; his grandchildren, Mariah, Madison and Macee; his siblings, Patricia (Tris) Rutledge and Terrell H. Richardson, III., and three nieces and one nephew.
Jimmy was born in Columbus, Mississippi, and moved to Biloxi at the age of three when his father was transferred to Keesler Air Force Base. A proud graduate of Biloxi High School, Class of 1981, he answered the call to serve his country immediately after graduation by joining the United States Marine Corps.
During his distinguished 25-year military career, he served honorably in Desert Storm and rose to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant (E-7), a role he held with immense pride. Being a Marine was not just a duty—it was a defining part of who he was.
Known as a true jack of all trades, he was always ready to lend a hand and could fix just about anything around the house. A loyal New Orleans Saints fan, he rarely missed a game and loved cheering on his team.
In retirement, he found purpose in giving back, particularly through volunteering with Wreaths for Biloxi National Cemetery during the holiday season—a cause close to his heart.
Above all, he was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His greatest joy came from time shared with his family, especially his beloved granddaughter, Macee—his “best girl.”
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, with visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
