James (Jimmy) Kilduff passed away peacefully on June 17 2025. He was born April 22, 1957 in Jersey City. Jimmy was the son of Thomas and Evelyn (McDonald) Kilduff.
Jimmy was a graduate of St.Paul's Greenville and Snyder High School in Jersey City. But I think it fair to say his real education came from his life long associations with Jersey City in general and the Greenville section in particular.
Jimmy grew up in the Curries Woods Housing projects and Greenville Ave in Jersey City. The experiences he gained there particularly in Greenville's legendary St. Paul's courtyard truly formed him into the man he would become. An excellent athlete, Jimmy starred in the Greenville American Little League, where he also coached for years, and played in countless basketball games and tournaments in the area.
He worked for the US Postal service for 32 years, retiring in 2018. Those who knew him would testify that besides family and friends he had three great passions the NY Jets, music and of course horse racing. Many a day and night would be spent with Jimmy singing along at the top of his lungs to his favorite bands. Often to the dismay of neighbors and family. Just kidding.. maybe!
Jimmy was the beloved brother of Tommy and Bobby Kilduff. He was the brother in law to Maria and Rosemarie Kilduff. Favorite uncle to Megan Wolf ( Kilduff), Kelly Bartolotta (Kilduff), Erin Parlagreco (Kilduff) and Bob Kilduff. Also their respective husbands and wife Dave, Greg, Sal and Christine. He always had a great time around his nieces and nephew and their children.
To try and list all the other family members and friends he touched and and cherished would take up way too much space than allotted here. Just know he valued and loved all of you.
Jimmy will be waked at Greenville Memorial Home 374 Danforth Ave, Jersey City on Sunday June 22 from 2 until 6 pm. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 23rd at 10:00am at St. Paul's RC Church, 14 Greenville Avenue in Jersey City. Interment follows at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. A repast will be held following the funeral. Details to follow.
Though we are all hurting over Jimmy's loss following a ferocious fight against a horrible disease it's important to the family that the wake, the funeral and the repast serve not as grim sorrowful time but rather as a celebration of the life and times of a completely unique spirit. Please bring all your stories and great memories of Jimmy. We all love to hear them.
Personal note to those attending any of the remembrance functions, it is going to be dangerously hot. Please dress as casually and comfortably as you like. As a family we don't really stand on ceremony and and pomp and circumstance all that much, just be comfortable and hydrated.
In lieu of flowers it would be greatly appreciated if donations were made in Jimmy's name to the American Cancer Society. In the end this plague took its toll on Jimmy. But maybe a small donation could go a long way in helping some poor souls suffering right now he'd like that.
Finally thanks to the great nursing and hospice staff at Bayonne Hospital. Their care and empathy for Jimmy will never be forgotten.

My brother, Jim, informed me last night of Jimmy's passing. I extend my condolences to the Kilduff family. Jimmy and I were classmates at St. Paul's up until 5th grade when my family uprooted and moved to Toms River. Memories of fun in the classroom and in the courtyard remain with me. A standout memory was when Jimmy and I were both drafted into the "Majors" at Greenville American LL. If memory serves me right, Jimmy was drafted by Seafares and I went to Lightolier. How excited we were that morning in the courtyard before school! The years have gone by but the memories remain. Rest in Peace, good friend. Pat Rankin

Killi was a good friend at St Paul's and during our high school years. We played hoops for hrs., endless crazy street games, got in and out of trouble, and laughed until it hurt. He was one our original St.Pauls "courtyard boys" crew of the 60s and 70s. I had not have seen him for many, many years, but he was someone I never forgot. Thanks Killi for all the great memories of adventures while we grew up "in the streets of Jersey City.
