Mr. James Weyman King, 89, of Danburg Road, Tignall, husband of 68 years to Retha Danner King, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. King was born in Oxford on April 5, 1935, son of the late Jeff Lee King and Beulah Anglin King. He worked in the trucking industry, road construction industry, and retired from the maintenance department at Wilkes County School System. Weyman was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Retha, are his daughter, Cindy King Barrow and her husband James of Washington; grandchildren: James David King and his wife Candy and Molly Barrow Turner and her husband Dustin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: J.C. King, Edna King Smith, and Myrtice King White.
The family is at the residence and will greet friends on Saturday, August 10, from 1:00-1:45p.m. at Fishing Creek Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, August 10, at 2:00p.m. at Fishing Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Cates officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
