James Knippel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri - Kansas City on Jan. 29, 2026.
James Norman Knippel, known to many as Jim, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the age of 72 in Platte City, MO. Born on March 19, 1953, Jim attended North Kansas City High School and Missouri State University. He spent several decades living in Seattle, Washington, before returning to the Kansas City area.

Throughout his life, Jim pursued various passions as an artist, physical trainer, and stockbroker. His talent for articulating the world on canvas was matched only by his dedication to cycling, fitness, and helping others achieve their health goals.

He is survived by his sisters, Maggie Jacobsen and Marcia Richard, as well as six nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. All looked up to their brother and "Uncle James" with deep love and admiration.

Family and friends are invited to attend a casual Celebration of Life on January 24, 2026, at Barley & Vine, 246 Main St, Platte City, MO 64079. Please join us anytime between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to share stories and remember Jim together.
