James Koch Obituary

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Earl and Lucille (Moyer) Koch. A graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1970, Jim dedicated much of his life to hard work and craftsmanship as a steel worker, retiring from Penn Iron Works after a long career.
Jim had a deep love for the outdoors, especially time spent boating on Blue Marsh Lake with his family-a place that brought him great joy and peace. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he also enjoyed following current events and never missed a chance to talk politics.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jacqueline (Kern) Koch; his children: Ryan Koch and wife Kyle, Matthew Koch and partner Karen, all of Palmerton; and Misty Witman and husband Robert of Mohnton. He was a proud grandfather to Lorelai, Olyvia, Derrek, and Jayce. Jim is also survived by his sisters, Debra Mertz (Edward) of Nazareth and Cheryl Simock (Wayne) of Melbourne, Florida; his brother-in-law and best friend, Michael Kern; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611.
