James C. Koss

1942 - 2025

KOSS, JAMES C. Age 83 of Shelby Township MI, passed away on October 13, 2025. He was born on March 26,1942 in Detroit, MI son of the late Clarence and Theresa (Dybowski) Koss.

He graduated from Osborn High School in 1960. After his graduation, he enlisted in the army and served 3 years, based in Virginia Beach.

On June 24,1966, Jim married his high school sweetheart, the late Sharon L. Caldwell in Detroit, MI at St. Raymond's Catholic Church. James started his career as a clerk at Chrysler Corporation in 1965, earning a degree from Central Michigan University while climbing the ladder through various upper management positions ultimately retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church and participated as a member of The Knights of Columbus chapter 1492 while he lived in Ludington, Michigan. James enjoyed reading, traveling, photography, and hunting & fishing with the 'Four Buds Sportsman's Club.' What he loved the most was spending time with his family and friends. He was always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need.

James is survived by his fiancée Barbara Rice, children Steven (Ann) Koss and Deborah (Brian) Dale, grandchildren Kelsey and Ethan Koss and Caleb and Liliana Dale, sisters Sandra (Dennis) Grzych and Susan (Joe) Evans, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 28, 2025, at Wasik Funeral Home 49150 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Township MI from 2 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic Church 48815 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Township, MI with Father Bill Gruden officiating. In state begins at 9:30 a.m., with the Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow with Interment at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, in lieu of flowers.
