James Robert Krogue

Jim (James Robert) Krogue, beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025 at the age 80 after a long struggle with dementia. Jim Krogue was born to Elmer and Frankie Krogue in Montpelier, Idaho on August 21, 1945. He lived there until the family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho in 1950 where he lived the rest of his life.

Jim loved racing cars. This started as a teenager helping with stock cars. As a young man, he had his own race car and loved the quarter-mile tracks in Pocatello and Blackfoot. As he got older he loved all things NASCAR and had his favorite drivers including Chase Elliott and Danica Patrick. He also loved being active with his toys: muscle cars, motorcycles, ATV's, and snow mobiles. For the last 20 years he had a fire engine red mustang with the license plate, "Jim's Joy."

After completing an auto body course at Idaho State University, Jim worked for various companies near Blackfoot. Most of his career was spent working at Kraft Cheese in Blackfoot. He retired as that plant was closed.

He loved and was loved by his family including nieces and nephews. Jim was a lifelong companion to his parents. He and his father's care of his mother allowed for her to live out her life in their home. He also provided the same care and companionship to his father until he passed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Frankie Krogue and his sister-in-law Celia Krogue. He is survived by his three brothers: Paul Krogue, John (Jeanene) Krogue, and Steven (Ginger) Krogue, as well as ten nieces and nephews and their families.

The family wishes to thank the excellent care given by Cara Fitzgerald and the sweet ladies of Comfort Home Health Care and those at Sage Grove Assisted living in Rigby, Idaho. Jim will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM October 18th, 2025 at the Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. Interment will be in the Montpelier, Idaho Cemetery.
