James Louis Kuglics, 65, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on April 21, 2025 in
Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Jim was born in New Brighton, PA to Dolores Beegle Kuglics and Louis R. Kuglics on May 23, 1959. He went to Riverside High School, graduating in1977, and graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in 1983. He married Barbara Anne Kurlak on February 18, 1984 in Pittsburgh, PA. Jim worked as a Procurement, Planning and Control Senior, Engineering for Lockheed Martin for 31 years.
Jim was a loving and very devoted husband, father, and Poppy, as well an adoring son, brother, and uncle. He had a passion for Pittsburgh and Penn State sports second to none and even attended the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp with his son Jimmy. He loved hiking in the Adirondacks with his family all throughout his life. Jim also had an incredible vintage vinyl record collection and loved seeing live bands since his days in high school. Music was a very important part of his life. Cutting down the Christmas tree with his children each year, creating a lovely town scene below it, and decorating the house with lights is a favorite part of his childrens' and wife's memory of him.
Jim is preceded in death by his father Louis R. Kuglics and grandparents Louis and Bertha Kuglics, and Paul Brooks and Mary Beegle.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbara Kuglics; his daughter Valerie Lisi and her husband Todd Lisi, his daughter Mary Kuglics and her partner Andy Hoag, his son James R. Kuglics and his partner Jennifer Bloom; his mother Dolores Kuglics; his brother Richard Kuglics and his wife Debbie, his sister Becky Stevens and her husband Melvin, his sister Joanie Doas and her husband Pete; his grandson Jeffrey (JJ) Lisi, granddaughter Paisley Lisi; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
