James Kurowski Obituary
Jim was born in Chicago, IL on October 10, 1947 to Roy L & Monica M Kurowski. Growing up on the North Side of Chicago in Bucktown, he was the biggest Cubs fan you'd ever meet. His sports and music knowledge was immense. He served in the United States Army from 1967-1969. Jim was a career US Postal Carrier and known to many as the friendly mailman who adored the dogs on his route. Jim married Diana Ziegler September 1979. She proceeded him in death in September 2005. He had a special relationship with his sister Laverne. When they were young, neither couldn't make it through a meal without getting in trouble for laughing at the dinner table. Jim was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was proud of his nieces and nephew & bragged on them to every one.
He is survived by his sister, Laverne Spainhour of Clinton, IL; niece Lisa (Rich) Giemzik of Gilbert, AZ; nephew Michael (Heather) Spainhour of Decatur, IL; & niece Brandi (Sean) Martin of Gilbert, AZ; great niece Libby Spainhour of Normal, IL; and sister in laws, Georgia Thomsen & Alyce Fiedler.
The family would like to thank Jim's special friend Theresa Jones for just being there for him thru the years and Kellie Knutty for making him feel at home at Bootie's Main Tap.
Jim will be cremated per his wishes. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
