James Albert Lane, age 47, of Louisville, KY, and formerly of Carrollton, MO, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.
James was born to parents Debra Mae and Michael Kevin Lane on Sunday, July 17, 1977. James could not wait to make his appearance and was born in an ambulance south of Carrollton. He was the middle child, joining older sister Stephanie Renee and later welcoming brother Allan Keith.
James was raised in Carrollton and as a child played little league baseball. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1995, where he was a member of the high school band and drumline captain.
James' first job was at Harold's grocery store in Carrollton. He later worked for S&K in Carrollton and after finding it unsatisfactory, took a job with his brother-in-law burying and installing cable for Nacom, later known as Cable Express, which was based out of Louisville. After several years he started up his own cable business, Elevated Wiring, which he was still managing at the time of his passing.
James enjoyed Louisville so much he decided to build his life there. He met Kristie (Carroll) Lane, and together they had two beautiful children, Bryce Jameson in 2013 and Kyndal Noelle in 2015.
James was a charismatic person who was easy to be around. In his youth he enjoyed playing the drums and disc golf. Later his hobbies included playing poker, videogaming with family and friends, doing activities with his kids, and working.
James is survived by his two children, Bryce and Kyndal, and their mother Kristie all of Louisville; his sister Stephanie Shannon (Charlie) brother Allan Cordray (Klarissa) of Carrollton, MO; his mother Debra Hake of Carrollton, MO; step-father, Darrell Peppers; and many beloved extended family members on both his and Kristie's side.
James is preceded in death by his father, Michael Lane.
James elected to be an organ donor, a decision which was a true testament to his selfless nature. His final gift saved the lives of multiple individuals in need and helped many more.
Memorials are kindly suggested to be made out to family choice to assist with funeral expenses.

The way he loved his kids. He talked about them daily. He was so easy to talk to and could talk for hours about anything. The way he would laugh at my stupid jokes. He was a nice, caring, gentle person.
