James Lankford Obituary
James A. Lankford, 79, of Fremont, OH passed away on December 8, 2025 at Spring Creek in Green Springs, OH. He was born on March 28, 1946 in Fremont, OH the son of Orville and Edna (Davisson) Lankford. Jim was a 1964 graduate of Ross High School.
Jim married Brenda Halbisen on January 29, 1965 in Fremont, OH and she survives. He was employed at Eveready/Union Carbide for thirty one years until he retired. He then worked at HJ Heinz for thirteen years until he retired in 2010.
Jim was a life member of the Eagles and served as Past President and was currently the Treasurer. He enjoyed playing golf and Yahtzee. He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.
Jim is survived by his wife of sixty years Brenda Lankford, Fremont; daughters, Karrie (Richard) Stull, Fremont, Krista (Jon) Beaber, Gibsonburg and Korie (Anthony) Lather, Fremont; brother, David (Cathy) Lankford, Miamisburg; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kimberlie A. Myers.
Visitation will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH. A celebration of life will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials can be made in his honor to the donor’s choice.
