Obituary published on Legacy.com by A. G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 10, 2025.
James "Chris" Lashbrook, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away with his wife by his side on December 7, 2025, at the age of 61. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Chris was born in
Ogden, UT to the late James L. Lashbrook and Sharron Whitney Pierce. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Adelle (Locatelli) Lashbrook, sons Brandon Lashbrook and Austin (Jessica) Lashbrook of
Longmont, CO, and Mason Lashbrook, of
Gloversville, NY, and granddaughters Zoey, Luna, Adelynn, and Delilah Lashbrook, all of
Longmont, CO. He is also survived by his devoted dog, Barney, who was truly part of the family.
Chris proudly served in the United States Air Force, including during Operation Desert Storm, where he earned an Air Force Commendation Medal for his dedication and service. He served as an Aircraft Armament Systems Captain, working specifically on F16 and A10 fighter jets. After completing his military career, he continued to make an impact as a network administrator, working for companies such as Ericsson, HP, and AT&T.
A man of many hobbies, Chris lived life with energy and curiosity. He was a talented musician who attended Northern Arizona University on a music scholarship for saxophone and later learned to play guitar and piano. He loved the water, becoming a Divemaster and spending countless joyful hours scuba diving. Chris also spent years playing and coaching his son's hockey, participating in tournaments nearly every weekend for several years.
His hobbies reflected his wide-ranging interests-archery, 3D printing, RC club, and any project that let him build, create, or explore something new. The Lazy 8 RC Air Club, especially, brought him tremendous joy and connection with friends who shared his enthusiasm.
Above all, Chris loved being with his family. Some of his happiest memories were made camping in his RV, traveling the country, going on cruises (especially to Bermuda), and simply being together. He found wonder in seeing the world and made sure his family experienced that same joy.
Chris lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously. His strength, humor, curiosity, and quiet determination will forever inspire those who knew him. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered always.
In keeping with Chris's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
A military interment ceremony will take place in the spring at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with full honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation, which provided treatments and support to Chris throughout his illness and helps local patients and families facing cancer. Contributions can be made at: https://nyohfoundation.org/
