James "Jim" Alan Leus, age 61, of Altheimer, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.
Born July 21st, 1964 in Houston, Texas, Jim was the son of Deethlyn Olson Leus and the late Earl Alan Leus.
He received his early education in Lake Jackson, Texas, attending Brazoswood High School. He later received his Bachelor of Science degree in fisheries biology from the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff, with masters' hours in interdisciplinary toxicology.
Jim was last employed at Western Foods' Pine Bluff facility, retiring as Quality Control Manager after 6 years of service. Previously, he had served as QA/QC manager for Riceland Foods Rice Division for 15 years.
He was a long-time member of Altheimer Methodist Church.
An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing, antique Ford tractors, boat motor repair, and hay farming for his horses. As a transplanted Texan, he always referred to the Arkansas Delta as "God's Country"...........everything he loved and loved to do was right here.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Jean Rene' Simpson Leus, whom he married on October 29th, 1986; a son, Paschall Alan Leus (Charlene) of Conway, Arkansas, and a daughter, Christian Rene' Leus of Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister, Jan MacKay of Cedar Park, Texas; a nephew Justin Hunt (fiancé' Kaley) of Hutto, Texas and a niece Juleah Hunt of Georgetown, Texas; granddaughters Alexandra Mae Leus and Elizabeth Jane Leus, also of Conway, and many other loving family and friends.
Services are to be private.
Memorials may be made to Altheimer Methodist Church, P.O. Box 759, Altheimer, Arkansas, 72004.
