Raymond (Ray) Howe, age 90, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 27, 2025. He was born October 2, 1934, in Memphis, TN. He grew up in Crawfordsville, AR and attended the University of Arkansas where he met and married Judy Bass. They were married 63 years until Judy's passing in 2018.
Ray was a mechanical engineer who worked for various companies during his working career. He earned his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1985 from Washington State University while working full-time.
Shortly after retiring in 1998, they moved to Mount Vernon area from Seattle to a property that provided ample parking for their large 5th wheel trailer and a large home for hosting family events.
He loved to run and continued to be active throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening and was a part-time handy man around the home. Both he and his wife enjoyed traveling and seeing the world
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Howe, and son, Mark. He is survived by his children, Rob Howe (Lorie), William Howe (Maro), and Susan (Kelly) LaFave; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his sister, Martha Wing, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 1 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Mount Vernon WA. Details have yet to be determined. A private family graveside service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to any Alzheimer's/Dementia charity.
