James Long Obituary

He was born in Houston, TX on October 16, 1997. After obtaining his GED in 2017, he went on to become the General Manager of Pump it up in Stafford. He was fun loving, energetic and charismatic, pure joy and 100% real. James loved his family more than anything in this world. You could always find him hanging out with family or friends, playing with his nieces or nephews who he just absolutely adored. He was a mama's boy and was there for her through the good times, the bad, the highs and the lows and his sisters' protectors. James loved to be the funny man in the room and always wanted to make everyone laugh even when it was the worst of times, he was always there to try to lift everyone's spirts. He was strong and always took things head on no matter what. He always wanted to see the good in people no matter who they were, he truly was a beautiful soul. In March of 2022 he met the love of his life Kendyl Driver and took the leap of faith and asked her to join this crazy family of ours on December 22, 2022.
James is survived by his fiancé Kendyl Driver, parents Jorge and Susan Sermeno of Rosenberg, TX, Jack and Theresa Ratley of New Mexico, Siblings: Michael and Amber Arb of Richmond, VA, Savannah Taylor of Houston, TX, Karrie Sermeno of Houston, TX, Evelinda Sermeno of Houston, TX, JJ Sermeno of Houston TX, Jack Ratley Jr., Kristen Waters, Charles C. Ratley, and Tasha Ratley, Nieces and Nephews: Tamra, Liam, Brighton, Micha, Melissa, Gianluca, Jordan, Dustin, Ryan, Anastazia, Scarlett, David and Elijah. James also had many aunts, uncles and other extended family members as well.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Shirley Louise Giauque, Virgil Leroy Long, Elida Ortega Zermeno, Lorean Elizabeth Sowards, Calvin Sowards, his nephew Alexzander Michael Arb and many other family members.

The Family will have a visitation service at Davis Green Lawn on March 31st from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd, Rosenberg, TX 77471. On Saturday April 1st at 12:00 the family will hold a celebration of life. (Location details will be forthcoming).
