MACOMB TWP – James R. Lundberg, (age 85), died peacefully on June 4, 2024.
He was the beloved husband of Evelyn Jean Lundberg (Black) and loving father of Karin Milicevic (Bill) and Thomas and Alan Lundberg. He is survived by his younger sisters, Trish Bucher of Sapphire, NC and Mary Soule of Owasso, MI. His brothers, Robert and David Lundberg Jr, predeceased him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Wright, and his father, David Lundberg Sr, originally from Rockford, IL.
He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, MI and after high school, he joined the U. S. Navy and proudly obtained the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class. He then attended Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, MI and graduated in 1963 with a degree in Business Administration. Upon his graduation from CMU he worked for Michigan National Bank, Manufacturers Bank, and Bank of the Commonwealth, and eventually retired from Telecheck of Michigan after 22 years of service as the Operations Manager.
Believing in volunteerism throughout his lifetime, he supported Our Lady of Fatima, Oak Park; St Paul of Tarsus, Clinton Twp (President of the Men's Group.) He was also a long time member of Southfield Rotary Club and even served as president from 2000 – 2001. He was a member of his condo board of directors for many years, and RCCD (the Radio Control Club of Detroit) as Publicity Chairman for several years. Additionally, he enjoyed working with his hands and helping others with his handyman skills.
