Gerald was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 31, 1945 to Charles and Luella (Stebner) Wasmundt. Gerald served 2 years in the United States Army as an Armor Intelligence Specialist during the Vietnam War. Gerald spent several years in Florida landscaping before making his way back to Michigan, where his family was. Gerald enjoyed being outdoors, riding his bike and watching golf. He also liked to read books about musicians and actors as well as watching movies. Gerald had a knack for helping others and will be greatly missed.
Beloved father of the late infant Gerald Robert Wasmundt Jr., Laura (Ken) Christodolu and the late Mary (Bill) Webb; grandfather of Nikolas (Kelly), Kassandra, Zackary and Jacqlyn; and former spouse of Suzanne (Bayer); brother of Richard (Dorothy) and the late Donald. Gerald is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation for Gerald will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank Road, Macomb. Burial will be Monday, August 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. If you are joining us for the burial, please be sure to arrive 15 minutes early.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Foundation for Women's Cancer (FWC) or the American SIDS Institute.
