Jim was born on May 24, 1947 in Garden City, KS, to parents Jim and Joyce. He grew up in Leoti, KS and graduated from Wichita County High School. He attended Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS before enlisting in the Army and serving for 2 years. He went on to work in several different industries as well as owning a couple successful businesses.
Jim was an active man of God who was deeply involved in the churches he attended. He and Kari were foster parents of many children over almost 25 years. He found Jesus at Bent Tree Bible Church while living in Carrollton, TX and loved attending Hope Community Church in Andover, KS. He enjoyed many sports over the years including motorcycle racing, golf, mountain biking, and paintball. His family and friends will always remember him as an active man who was never shy about sharing his opinions.
There will be a small service on the hillside next to Hope Community Church in Andover to spread Jim's ashes, date to be determined.
