Mr. James “Jimmy” Bernard McCrae, age 82, of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Monday, June 02, 2025, at his home in Willacoochee, Ga.
Born April 27, 1943, in Dothan, A.L., Mr. McCrea was the son of the late Walter James and Martha Eloise Floyd McCrea. He grew up in Willacoochee, Ga. and was a mechanic/welder-fabricator. Mr. McCrea enjoyed hunting, working with his hands, and he was an avid race fan. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Willacoochee First Baptist Church and a veteran of the Army National Guard.
Survivors include:
Wife: Barbara Grantham McCrea
Son: Derek McCrae and wife Sheila of Columbus, Ga.
Daughter: Paulette McCrae of Jacksonville, Fl.
Brother: Johnny McCrae of Willacoochee, Ga.
Sister: Judy Lewis and husband Edsel of Willacoochee, Ga.
Caregivers: Sherry Music, Lynn Sowell, and Joseph Zichgraf of Willacoochee, Ga.
4 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Graveside services for Mr. McCrae were held on Wednesday, June 04, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Willacoochee City Cemetery in Willacoochee, Ga. with Rev. Joe Taft officiating. The internment followed in Willacoochee City Cemetery.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
