Obituary
James "Jim" Allen McKee passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Legacy Marion, surrounded and visited by loved ones as he prepared for eternal rest.
Jim was born on June 24, 1952 to the late Chester and Flora McKee. He was a lifelong resident of Marion County. He graduated in the 1970 class of Pleasant High School, and he married the love of his life Janice M. (Sharrock) McKee in July 1973. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, celebrating a lifetime of commitment and love.
Jim worked in different mechanic shops and drove truck. He drove for Central Soya before he suffered an accident which led to an early retirement. He was a lover of tractors, cars, motorcycles, and more, and he was a master "tinkerer" in the garage, whether it being something to build, fix for a neighbor pushing their lawnmower up his driveway or reminiscing with friends.
Jim gave freely, would talk to anyone, and was the one everyone would call if they needed something.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, and two daughters, Adrienne (David) Bruns and Ericka (Justin) Stark, all of Marion. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Dalton and Piper, who were his greatest joys.
He is survived by his brother Dale (Sandy) McKee of Marion and his sisters Phyllis Cole of Pickerington, Geneva McLaughlin of Kenton, Linda (Hugh) Norris of Marion, Carolyn (Gary) Limbacher of Marion, and Marilyn (Russ) Kline of Marion, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends whom he treasured.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard McKee, and nephew Todd McKee.
To respect Jim's wishes, there will be no services.
In honor of Jim and his avid love for tractors and motors, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Huber Machinery Museum in Marion.
We hope God accepts you with the same love and care you gave all of us.
