James C. McMahon, 85, passed away March 24, 2025.
James was born and raised in Newark and formerly of Orange and Stirling before moving to Bridgewater in 2005. He was a 1957 graduate of Seton Hall Prep. Jim owned and operated McMahon Realty for 40 Years, retiring in 2000. He was a parishioner of St. Bernard RC Church in Bridgewater. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid golfer and member of Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed skiing and going to the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. He was a NY Giants football fan. James will be sadly missed by all.
He is predeceased by his wife Ellen McMahon who passed away in 2019.
Surviving is his son Christopher and wife Carlyn, daughters Kelley and K.C. McMahon, one brother Thomas McMahon, sister Maryanne Guterl, and five grandchildren Timothy, Ryan, Justin, Ethan, and Delaney.
A funeral mass will be 10am Thursday, April 3, 2025 at St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Bridgewater. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Wednesday at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville.
