Malcolm D. Forrester III ("Mal") of Whitehouse Station, NJ passed away on July 6, 2025.

Born and raised in Elizabeth, the first born of six to the late Malcolm D. Jr. and Winifred Forrester, nee Grall, he graduated from Seton Hall Prep in 1955. During his high school career, he wrestled for the Elizabeth YMCA representing Seton Hall Prep and was captain of the Seton Hall Prep Swim Team. In 2010 he was named Outstanding Athlete and inducted into the Seton Hall Prep Hall of Fame for helping bring wrestling to the school.

Mal went on to graduate from Seton Hall University in 1959, majoring in Business Administration. Upon completion of Officer Candidate School, he went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. Mal was honorably discharged from active service as First Lieutenant in 1962 and honorably discharged from the USMC reserves as Captain in 1971.

While in college he met the love of his life, Ann Marie Gallagher, at a St. Patrick's Day Dance. The two were married while Mal was in the service, and after his discharge, they moved to Elizabeth. A short time later, they moved to Somerset, where they raised their family before settling in Bridgewater.

Mal was a devout Catholic, and his faith was a spiritual center in his life. He was past president of the Holy Name Society at St. Matthias Church in Somerset and a member of the Knights of Columbus at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville.

Mal's career in the medical surgical supply industry spanned over 40 years and began when disposable sharps and protective garments were first introduced. This transformed the procedures still in use by hospitals and medical facilities today. He worked hard to stay current with ever-evolving technology and product introduction over the years.

Mal enjoyed trips to the Jersey Shore with his family, vacations at his summer home in Ocean Beach III, catching a wave body surfing, swimming, and spending quality time together. Mal kept active golfing and working part-time at the USGA headquarters in Far Hills during retirement. He had a great sense of humor. Mal loved God, his family, and his country.

Malcolm was predeceased by his brother Edward Forrester (Patty), brother-in-law Patrick Gallagher and his wife Linda and brother in-law Connie O'Donnell.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years Ann Marie Forrester, their loving children, Thomas D. Forrester and wife, Cristen, Patricia Forrester Pernini, and Janice F. Dolan and husband Joseph; his cherished grandchildren, Thomas (Rosa), Ian (Cathryn), Kyle (Chelsea), Hope (Casey), John, Joseph, Aidan, and Erin; his adored great-granddaughters Daphne, Violet, Charlotte, and Isla; his dear siblings, Robert and wife Nancy, John and wife Peggy, Gailanne Brinley and husband John, Daniel and wife Candace, his sister-in-law Frances O'Donnell, as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
