Jim was born on May 5, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas. The love Jim had for music was evident in everything he did. He loved the guitar and taught many students in San Antonio often in his own living room. Jim was known for his great Elvis impersonation that got the best of the hound dogs rockin. He had the honor of playing the guitar with Willie Nelson. Although Jim loved the guitar his true love of his life was Linda. The two were married at the church where they met and spent 15 happy years together. Together they spent their free time on the coast of Port Aransas walking the beaches collecting shells and eating shrimp at Pier 99. Jim had five beautiful children Michael, Angelique, Jamie, Scott, and David. Listening to Jim tell stories about them filled your heart with the love he had for each one. When Jim first became a grandpa he couldn't have smiled any bigger. Jim was an ordained minister and officiated over 50 weddings of friends, family and strangers. He brought the love of Christ to everyone he met. If you were with Jim on any occasion he would be the first to lead you in prayer. His faith was strong and if we looked for him now I am sure he is watching the sunset in a Hawaiian shirt in heaven smiling knowing that he lived a full life.

What a loss to his friends and family. He made me love learning to play the guitar. I wish I had had time to continue classes. I'll miss you old hippy.
