James Mieth

James Mieth, 91, of Flatonia formerly of New Ulm passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025.
James was born on July 30, 1933, in New Ulm, Texas, the son of the late Alvin and Sophie (Bastain) Mieth.
He attended Rockhouse School located in the countryside of New Ulm.
James worked in road construction for his entire life. He always knew the value of hard work and dedication.
In his free time, James loved to fish and hunt deer. In fact, James was so proud to have hunted the most beautiful buck that literally came right up to his back door. He was so skilled at making the best deer sausage and loved giving it away to his family and friends. James was blessed with a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. In 2020, James moved to Flatonia to be closer to his sister, Ora Nell
James is survived by his sisters: Ora Nell and her husband, Herman of Flatonia; Leona Behrens of La Grange; Helen Perrard of Columbus; and brother, Roy Mieth of Bryan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Leroy Mieth, Lester Mieth, and Milton Mieth; and two sisters: Florine Roensch and Linda Bletzinger.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Industry Methodist Church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with family present at this time to receive friends. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Following the church service, burial will follow at the New Ulm Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Industry Fire Department.
