James M. Mokarem, 78, of Brunswick, passed away July 8, 2025.
He was born in Cleveland on December 27, 1946 to the late Faiz and Shirley (Wright) Mokarem.
James is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carolyn (Meredith); children, James (the late Erica) Mokarem, Jr., Michael (Kelly) Mokarem, Carl Darrin (Birgit) Filut, Vincent (Judy) Filut, and Angela Filut; grandchildren, Michael Mokarem, Jr., Tyler Mokarem, Nathan (Paisley) Filut, Jared (Katie) Filut, Brittany (Tom) Keating, Ryan Filut, Brandon Filut, Lexie Mokarem, Justin Mokarem, and Alexis Narolewski; and great-grandchildren, Oliver Filut, Kai Filut and Charles Hicks.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. James was a fan of all Cleveland sports teams and particularly loved watching football and basketball games. He also enjoyed playing on his computer, whether it was just some silly game, surfing the net, watching movies, or reading up on current events. James will always be remembered as a caring individual who was well liked by everyone he met.
Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, followed by a Memorial Service at 5 p.m.
