SUMMITVILLE, IN – Jim Moore, 83, entered peace and rest from his residence, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, following a brief illness.
Jim was born on February 8, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio to Herbert and Helen (Langhorst) Moore and has lived in Summitville for the past 51 years. Jim was a graduate of Fairmount High School-Class of 1961. He retired from S & S Fire Apparatus, formerly of Summitville in 2002. He was a member of the Anderson First Baptist Church. Jim enjoyed gardening around his home.

Wife-Janet (Bailey) Moore-married May 26, 1963
2 Sons-Darrin (Lynn) Moore of Brooklet, Georgia, Steven (Cindy) Moore of Summitville
Grandsons-Dylan (Leslie) Moore of Pembroke, Georgia, Jacob Moore of Charleston, South Carolina
Granddaughter-Amber Moore of Sulfur Springs
2 Brothers-David (Elise) Moore of Tucson, Arizona, Jack Moore of Fairmount
Brother-in-law-James Bailey of Summitville
Sister-in-law-Joyce Parks of Marietta, Georgia
Several nieces, nephews and cousins
Services honoring Jim's life, legacy and faith will take place at 6 pm on Friday, June 6, 2025, in the Summitville First Baptist Church, 700 East Mill Street with Rev. Don Miller officiating. Cremation will follow the service with private interment to take place at Forrestville Cemetery in Boone Township at the convenience of the family. The Moore family will receive friends after 4 pm on Friday at the church prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Community Hospice or Kings Four Ministries with envelopes available at the service.
Jim's care and service arrangements have been entrusted to Owens-Noffze Funeral Home in Summitville.
