"I am leaving you a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid."-John 14:27.
"Foe to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor; yet what I shall choose I want not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better."-Philippians 1: 21-23.

He joined Antioch Baptist Church in Merrill, MS at an early age where he accepted Christ as his savior and later transitioned to Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church of Beaumont, MS under the leadership of the Late Dr. Wilmer L. Carter. He was called the ministry in 1966 at the youthful age of 25. His greatest love was spreading God's word. After accepting this call, he was called to Pastor several churches during his time. The first church he pastored was Mt. Olive of McLain, MS in 1971 (He was th astor to be called there.) He led that flock until March of 1983. He pastored the following churches in this order and some during the same time: Amanda Chapel of Wiggins, MS, Progress Baptist Church of Bassfield, MS, Antioch Baptist Church of Merrill, MS, and currently Sandfield Missionary Baptist Church of Waynesboro, He has been pastoring at Sandfield since July of 1990 (34 years strong) and has exemplified a devoted legacy of leadership throughout his tenure. He has been leading God's
people for over 35 years, that is a divine perseverance. God is pleased and with that we can lift our heads with a joyful heart.
Reverend Moye was UNCLE SON to everyone. He was loved by so many and he will be sorely missed by hearing him shout out a nickname that he had for everyone no matter how crowded a room was. He was always the same; always joyful and humorous. His favorite pastimes were watching sports, especially football. He really did not care for fishing but loved to take his grandchildren, as they enjoyed eating the raw wieners (catfish bait). One grand stated they ate so many while fishing when they were young until they cannot stand a hotdog at all now. He just enjoyed his time with the grands no matter what they were doing. The grand then stated Pawpaw's favorite hobby above all was spreading the gospel of Jesus! (What a powerful impact this is for his grands) That is a memory we all should want to leave.
Reverend Moye was not an idle man, he was a man of valox. He served as President of the NAACP when racial unrest was at an all-time high.
