James Murphy Obituary

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, October 25, at 11:00 AM at the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
James was born in Richmond, Virginia, on August 18, 1971. He lived most of his life in Ayden and attended Ayden-Grifton High School. James was a very good drummer and was an original member of the band, Redalia. He later played with the band, Flywheel. James was a funny and good-hearted person.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Nelson Murphy, Sr.; grandparents, James and Selma Murphy, and George and Blanche Knox.
James is survived by his mother, Kay Knox Murphy; siblings, Charles Murphy, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Wilson, Pamela Puryear and husband, Dwayne, of Mt. Holly, and Patrick Murphy and wife, Mary, of Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
