Obituary For Mr. James Willie Nick, Jr.
James (Smoot) Willie Nick, Jr.,41, passed away on July 8, 2024. James was born on June 24,1983 to the late James Nick Sr. and Lorraine Blair in High Point, NC. James was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Dela Mae and Vernon Blair; Franklin D. Roosevelt and Katie Mae Nick; one son, James Nick, III.
James attended Andrews High School. After high school, he became an entrepreneur selling retail merchandise for over 20 years in High Point.
Doing these years, he was blessed to have four kids, three girls and one boy whom he loved dearly, unfortunately his son, James Nick III., passed shortly after birth.
James loved the Lord and his family and friends and loved to cook for the whole family on special occasions and holidays, bringing both sides of his family together for a fun time, playing cards and joking while showing off his beautiful, dimpled smile. He had a heart of pure gold and would do anything he could to help, he would give you his last dime if you truly needed it.
James loved to spend time with each of his kids and make memories, he had a special bond with them. "Smoot" will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: three daughters, Kamrin Jazmine Ann Nick, Tae'yona Nick Peoples, and Ca'Nyia Desirae Bethea all of High Point NC; one granddaughter, Paityn Lilly of High Point, NC; a special aunt, Betty (Billy) Shipman who he thought of as a second mom and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
