James Edward O'Toole (Jim), 88, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025. Jim was born on October 18, 1936 in the Bronx to James O'Toole and Mary (nee Breslin).
He is survived by his devoted wife Carol and children Mary Jo (Thomas Gambardella), Kerry (Robert Fellegara), Jeanne (Jackie Burks), Jim Jr, (Gregory Birchett), Tara (Gene Hickey) and his daughter-in-law Kathy (Tom Moran). He is also a devoted grandfather to Michael (Shanaz), Matthew, Regina (Scott), Mark (Sarah), Abraham, Joe, TJ, Claire, Maeve and Emily and great-grandfather to Marlowe, Sloane, James, Thomas and MJ.
He is also survived by his brother Patrick and sister, Rosemary (William Durkin).
Jim was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Josephine, his sister, Margaret Foy and his son, Joseph F. Holland.
Jim worked for Citibank with Overseas Banking and later Cardinal Hayes High School as the Tuition Administrator. He had a kind word, warm smile, deep faith, a great sense of humor, and twinkle in his eye for everyone and will be sorely missed by all.
Reposing Tuesday, June 24rd from 3-8 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 9:45 am at St. Joseph's Church, 15 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY 10708. Interment to follow St. Raymond's Cemetery Bronx, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
