James Roy Olson Sr., 70, of Concord, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018 following a lengthy illness. Jim was born in Stonington, ME on June 12, 1948 to Carl Roy Stanley Olson and Clara Adeline (Gross) McKenna. He was a graduate of Concord High School and a career truck driver, most recently driving for Wex Enterprises. When Jim decided to leave the transportation industry, he took a job as a machinist with Graphic Packaging, where he remained until 1999. Jim had many passions in life. He enjoyed model trains, riding his motorcycles, and making multiple daily trips to Dunkin' Donuts. He adored his dogs and loved spending time with family and friends. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Toni (Hackshaw) Olson; his son, James Olson Jr. and husband, Richard of Tampa, FL; daughter, Samantha Fuller and husband, Seth of Concord, NH; grandsons Noah and Gabriel Fuller; brothers Carl Olson and wife, Myra of Mobile, AL and John Olson of Canterbury, NH; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Cynthia Olson. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service to be held at 2pm on Friday, July 13th at Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 N State Street in Concord. A pot luck Celebration of Life will follow at the West Street Ward House, 41 West Street in Concord. Family invites you to please bring a dish to share. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to Concord Hospital Trust online at www.giveto.concordhospital.org. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of 5 North, 5 South, the ICU, and the palliative care team at Concord Hospital for their expert care, and they would also like to extend a special thank you to Jim's primary care physician, Holli Gorrell, ARNP and her staff at Concord Hospital Internal Medicine for the kindness and compassion they always exhibited while caring for Jim.
