In this world, there are opportunities to love. We are provided rare opportunities to know someone who captures our heart. We were given James Chase Owen. Chase's approach to life was goodness. The lens through which he looked was kindness. If you knew him, you loved him. If you didn't know him and saw him, you wanted to.
Chase was unafraid to work, love, or help another person. He did not waiver in his commitments. He was true to himself and his family. His smile alone warmed your heart. If there is one word to sum up Chase, Precious.
Chase was born June 11, 1991 to parents, Deanna Davis Boothe and Steve Owen, in Longview, Texas. He grew up and remained in East Texas until Krysti ignited a passion for exploration. They dated for one and a half years and married on July 7, 2017. They were married for five years and two months. With Krysti by his side, Chase experienced his first walk on a beach, airplane ride, and big city life! Chase and Krysti were a match made in Heaven, perfectly complementing one another.
Chase is survived by his wife, Krysti Lynn Owen and expected daughter, Everlynn Owen; parents Deanna and Tod Boothe and Steve and Shalen Owen; sisters Christen Gonzalez and husband, Tony, Kacey Owen, and Keyli Curnutt; grandmother, Ouida Loyd Davis; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Derenda Fleck; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and cousins who all loved him.
A Celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
