Croley Funeral Home - GilmerHiller Ligon Hess IV, known to many as Bo, was born on May 5, 1964, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, and passed away on August 21, 2025, in Diana, Texas.
Bo served honorably in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that instilled in him values of discipline and commitment.
After his military service, Bo enjoyed a successful career as a truck driver living in various locations and ultimately working many years for Prochlor. His role allowed him to explore the open roads where he found joy in the freedom of driving.
Outside of his career, Bo had a passion for race cars. It began with him sketching hot rods as a boy, building race cars in his teenage years, and ultimately, racing in his adult years. This hobby not only provided him with thrilling adventures but also created lasting memories with friends and loved ones, sharing stories and laughter during gatherings.
On September 24, 2015, he married Eulinda and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and shared memories. His relationship with Eulinda was a testament to true partnership.
Bo was preceded in death by his father, Hiller Ligon Hess III, and stepbrother, Billy Love Jr. He is survived by his wife Eulinda (Anderson) Hess of Diana; mother and stepfather, Sunny and Bill Love of Longview; son, Kevin Don Smith Jr. and wife Kayla of White Oak; sister and brother-in-law Hollie Hess and Patrick Hogan of Longview; stepsister Dee Milam and husband Danny; mother-in-law Barbara McElhaney, brother-in-law Damon Anderson, and sister-in-law Dee Robertson and husband Ryan and family; and four grandchildren: Elizzabeth, Aubrey, Ember, and Aria.
