Funeral services for Billy Mac Smith will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 28, 2025, at McWhorter Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Johnson and Donny Chamberlain officiating. Interment to follow at Enon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday. Billy Mac was born on December 20, 1951, in Big Sandy, Texas, to Claudie Columbus Smith and Eva Ludena James, raised in Rhonesboro by his grandmother, Annie James and passed from this life on August 21, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years before his retirement. Those left to cherish his memories are daughter, Jennifer Gentry, grandchildren, Katlyn Smith-Gentry, and Grayson Gentry; son, Steven Stewart, grandchildren, Alexis Eggleston and Caleb Stewart; daughter, Kathryn Estes, grandchildren, Katie Rutledge and Casey Estes; daughter, Lisa Flake, grandchildren, Greg Marshall, Leslie Tyner, Steven Marshall; siblings, Andra Casillas, Joe Smith, Charles Smith, and Judy Tidwell. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claudie and Eva Smith; his brothers Barney Smith and James "Spider" Smith. Pallbearers will be Chaffin Smith, Kyle Patterson, Rhett Gentry, Geoffrey Carey, Larry James, Clayton Nugent, Kayden Smith, and Brock Eggleston. Honorary pallbearers will be Grayson Gentry, Carl Clark, Roger Tidwell, Chanse Sisson, Ricky Taff, and Ennis Smith.
