James Pack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 26, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James "Jim" Eugene Pack, who left this world on February 16, 2025 at the age of 75. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was the foundation of our family, offering love, wisdom, and unwavering support throughout his life.
Born on January 21, 1950 in Beckley, WV, Jim grew up with a love for adventure and hard work. He honorably served his country in the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and dedication which he carried through every aspect of his life. After his service, he spent many years on the road as a truck driver, a career that fueled his passion for cars and travel. Jim was also a craftsman and spent many years owning an upholstery company and redesigning furniture while in Virginia.
Beyond work, he found joy in life's simple pleasures-casting a fishing line into the water, admiring the beauty of lighthouses, and sharing stories from the driver's seat. His wisdom and kindness made him more than just a grandfather; he was a father figure, mentor, and guiding light to those he loved. In his free time, you could find him driving up and down the beachfront listening to Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, and Willie Nelson. He enjoyed time with his family at classic car shows and loved to reminisce on the 'good ol' days'. Jim spent his retired years in Myrtle Beach, SC after living in West Virginia and Virginia most of his life with his wife, youngest daughter, and youngest granddaughter.
Jim leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, cherished by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many dear friends and family members. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the stories we share, the lessons he taught us, and the love he gave so freely. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Leonard Gillman Pack and Mary Margaret Curry Pack.
The family will not be holding services at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Myositic Association in his memory.
Rest easy, Poppaw. Your road does not end here-it continues in our hearts forever.
