James Parise, 95, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, and was reunited with his beloved wife, Maureen, who preceded him in death. James was born on November 1, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to Mary and Frank Parise (both immigrants from Italy), who passed before him. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Maisie, Jo and Katheryn as well as his special friends Shirley Kenney and Jennie Jordan.
James is survived by his three children: Gordon Parise, James H. Parise, and Gerald Parise with his wife Jori Parise. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Lindsay Parise, Kaitlin Parise, Collin Parise, Ian Parise, Megan Parise, Brandon Parise, and Sundari Parise, and six great-grandchildren including Luke Parise, Lincoln Parise-Black, and Noelle Parise. Additionally, he is survived by his dear friend, Rose Johnson.
James Parise, a Navy veteran who attended college through the GI Bill, devoted his career to electrical engineering at Raytheon in Massachusetts, where he played a key role in supporting the United States' defense efforts. During his time there, he worked on missile guidance systems as part of the company's military contracts. Never avoiding hard work, he completed a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering while working and supporting his family. After retiring, James embraced an active lifestyle, traveling, dancing twice a week (sometimes three times a week) and remaining actively involved in his local community.
A Viewing and Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 29 at McNutt Funeral Home, 1703 Porter Road, Conroe, Texas with the viewing from 9-10 AM and Memorial Service from 10-11AM, followed by a reception. A special Celebration of Life will be hosted by Rose Johnson on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at VFW Post 10352, located at 16035 Waverly Road in Houston.
