James Edmond Polsgrove, 94, passed away on February 18, 2025.
James was the loving husband of the late Mildred Polsgrove, to whom he was married for 70 years, and father of Sarah Smith; and also leaves behind three granddaughters, Annie T. Smith, Kennedy E. Smith, and Heather M. Presley; as well as three great-grandchildren, Ryleigh A. Clark, Ian J. Presley, and Kamryn G. Presley; and a sister, Sally Polsgrove.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Booth, and brother, John Barton "Dickie" Polsgrove.
James was born in Frankfort to Stella Shields and John Edmond Polsgrove on March 6, 1930. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he farmed for many years following his military service and then retired after working for Jim Beam Distillery.
He was a man who loved the Lord and cherished time spent with his family, was a Master Mason, and a member of First Christian Church.
Services will be held in the chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, February 25th at 12:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am.
The Rev. Meredith Siler will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Ian Presley, David Pilkington, and Joseph Mohr.
Honorary bearers will be Scotty Boothe, Jack Trogden, Archie Quarles, Bruce Quarles and Jerry Rhodes.
