James J. Post, Sr., born on January 15, 1942, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, James exemplified a sense of loyalty and duty that resonated throughout his life, both in his service to his country and in his professional endeavors and his devotion to the Catholic Church.
For over 40 years, James dedicated himself to his career at Conklin Corp in Franklin Lakes, where he rose to the position of Project Supervisor. He was very highly respected among his colleagues, who admired his work ethic and integrity. His commitment to his job mirrored the values he instilled in his family — the importance of hard work and perseverance.
A graduate of Butler High School, James cherished his time outdoors, often indulging in his beloved hobbies of trout fishing and deer hunting. However, it was the time spent bonding with his family that truly filled his heart. As a devoted father and grandfather, he took immense pride in his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Poppy." His greatest joy came from spending countless hours outdoors with them, sharing stories, and creating cherished memories.
James leaves behind a loving family who will carry on his legacy of love and dedication. Surviving him are his son, James J. Post Jr. (and wife Brenda), his daughter Melissa Post (and husband Charles Rigoloso), and his son Kevin Post (and wife Yaniry). He is also survived by his brothers: Gene Post, Dennis Post, Greg Post, Thomas Post, and Dave Post, as well as his sisters Eileen Bennett and Regina Post. A cherished grandfather, he is fondly remembered by Trevor Post (and wife Ashley), Victoria Post (and fiancé Kyle Colin), Jessica Riley, Isabel Post, Emma Post, and Judson Post. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom held him in high regard.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lorraine Post, and his siblings Richard Post and Dolly Parisi.
His viewing will be held on March 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service that same day at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc. in Butler, NJ, starting at 7:30 PM. James J. Post, Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his indelible spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
