Dr. James Morris Powers, Jr. formally of Paradise Valley, AZ and currently of Nashville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at The McKendree Village in Hermitage, TN. James was born on September 20, 1955 to the late Helen Hill Powers and Dr. James Morris Powers, Sr.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 25 years, Laura Greve Powers of Nashville, TN; daughters, Gigi Powers of Baton Rouge, LA, Hollan Powers of Tucson, AZ and Jamie Powers of Nashville, TN; sisters, Jarene Ballengee of Charleston, WV, Dr. Laraine Powers of Johnson City, TN and Lisa Powers of Nashville, TN. James is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws.
Along with his parents, James is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Corky Ballengee.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Brentwood United Methodist Church (309 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027) beginning at 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Davis Chapel officiating the service.
Arrangements are entrusted to Luff-Bowen Funeral Home.
