James Prince, 77, of Canonsburg, died, Saturday, May 24, 2025, in the Allegheny General Hospital. He was born April 10, 1948, in Garysburg, NC, a son of the late Willie W. and Mary Moody Prince. Mr. Prince had worked for 20 years for Ball Glass in Washington until its closing. He also worked for the Meadows Race Track as a groomer and trainer for 20 years, retiring in 2004. James attended Legacy Church International in Washington. He loved his PT Cruiser and enjoyed cruising with family and friends and keeping it spotless. James was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends. Surviving are two daughters, Caroline E. Prince of Meadow Lands and Angela Martin of Halifax, NC; four grandchildren, Aubrey Elizabeth Prince, Laila Crook, Semaj Martin and Tyeisha Johnson (Kwymane); a great grandson, Myles Johnson; four sisters, Frances Prince, Annie Barber and Marjorie Debrow all of Garysburg, NC and Joan Boone of Queens, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are a son, James "Pooh" Prince Jr.; a sister, Idonia Lashley; a brother, Willie W. Prince; and his fiancé, Vickie Miller. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. the time of service, Saturday, May 31, 2025, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Melanie Davis officiating.
