James Proffitt Obituary

Jim was born September 14, 1946 in VA; son of the late Granville Earl Proffitt Sr. and Jacqueline Bowen Proffitt. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Jim received his Master's Degree from Shenandoah University and worked at Rubbermaid for over 30 years. He was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church.
Jim married Phyllis Anne Moulden Proffitt, December 20, 1969 in Hagerstown, MD.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis "Monkee"; his sister-in-law, Barbara Proffitt of Winchester and many nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his son, Corey Andrew Proffitt and his brothers Dennis Alan Proffitt and Granville "Earl" Proffitt, Jr.
There will be a celebration of life, Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm. Military honors will be presented at 3:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
