James Jenkins Reap, known to family and friends as JJ, passed away on March 13, 2025. He was 66. JJ was born in December of 1958, in Bronxville, New York, to the Honorable James Burnett Reap and Nancy Leigh Jenkins Reap, who predeceased him. He graduated from White Plains High School and attended Wesleyan University.
JJ was a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and Actors' Equity Association (AEA). He was an accomplished actor and voice over talent who worked in film, TV and theater in the US and abroad. He was a lover of literature and created, performed and produced a one-man production based on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Off-Broadway he performed in The Gift Horse, The Grand Guignol and Henry V. Other noted roles include Atticus Finch and Don Quixote. He also worked as Kenneth Branagh's body double.

He was a talented pianist and especially loved playing compositions by Bach and Brahms. He was a fine linguist, fluent in French, Spanish and Russian. He enjoyed teaching English (ESL) as a second language. JJ loved to travel, and traveled extensively through the U.S. and Europe.
JJ is survived by his brother, Michael Hastings Reap and his sister, Jessica Leigh Reap. He will be laid to rest near his parents' grave in Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY.
