James Gregory Resetar, 74, of Sterling, Virginia, has passed away after a long battle with bladder cancer.
Born on June 25, 1950, in Trenton, NJ, James was the beloved son of Madeleine Muccie and Nicholas Resetar, and only brother to Geraldine Nichols, Rose Basile (John), Lisa Kiernan (Bill), and Victoria Kahhan (Jerry). His early years were spent working on the New Jersey boardwalk, where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth (Beth) AnnBrett. He went on to attend Rutgers University and later earned his MBA from Rider University, setting the foundation for a distinguished career working for OCC, Ernst & Young, and Capital One as a National Bank Examiner.
After marrying Elizabeth, James moved to Northern Virginia, where they built a life together and raised their four children, Kathleen Sain (Brian), Elizabeth, Laura Koch (Calvin) and Michael Resetar (Michelle Flynn). During their marriage, James and Beth held a second home in Cape May, New Jersey where they would frequent summers with the kids growing up. This upbringing instilled a love for the shore in the Resetar kids. Upon retirement, he and Beth returned to the place that always held his heart-the Jersey Shore, settling on the outskirts of Avalon.
James was an avid runner, a devoted reader, masterful storyteller, and, above all, a dedicated family man. His presence was a steady and loving force in the lives of his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, children, and his three grandchildren, Victoria andParker Sain, and Colton Resetar.
