Janet Resetar passed away peacefully surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and quiet strength. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Magdalena "Lena" Westgerdes; her sister, Mary "Jean" Schneble and brother-in-law, Theodore "Ted" Schneble; and her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Resetar.
She is lovingly remembered by Peter, her husband of 60 years; children: David Resetar, Daniel (Amy) Resetar, Joyce (Bruce) Abbott, and Michael Resetar; her grandchildren: Christopher (Teresa Dierks) Resetar, Andrew (Haleigh) Resetar, Caroline Resetar, Emily (Chris) Gibson, Timothy Abbott, Annie Resetar, and Megan Resetar; and her great-grandson, Benjamin Gibson. Janet is also survived by her siblings: James "Jim" (Charlene) Westgerdes and Judy (Mike) Whetstone, and sister-in-laws Cathy Lee and Dorothy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Fort Recovery High School, Ohio, Janet worked as a licensed practical nurse in nursing homes, where she was beloved by both her patients and their families. Her gentle nature, steady presence, and compassionate care left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She later devoted herself fully to her family as a homemaker. Janet had a lifelong passion for baking and spent countless hours tending to her plants and flower gardens. One of her greatest joys in life was caring for and doting on her grandchildren when they were young. She had a deeply caring heart-always more concerned with how others were doing than herself. Janet's warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Janet's devoted caregiver, LeNay, for the compassionate care, comfort, and companionship she provided in her final years.
