James M. Richardson, Sr.
Passed away peacefully at his daughter Julie's home on 25 June 2024 with
all his family beside him. He was born in Conway, South Carolina in 1935
to Flettie and William Richardson. He graduated from Myrtle Beach High
School and attended the University of South Carolina.
James finished up a tour in the United States Marine Corps and during the
summer met the love of his life, June Hartley Richardson. He convinced
her to marry him, and they made their home together in Myrtle Beach for a
happy 64 years before her passing.
James was a Building Contractor in Myrtle Beach and a proud member of the South
Carolina National Guard. His passion was always selflessly serving the
people of Myrtle Beach and his Nation. He was a member of the First
United Methodist Church for over 60 years and a member of the Open
Fellowship Sunday School Class. James participated in the Bible Study
Fellowship for over 10 years and served on the board at the Church. His
faith in God was strong. He shared his faith with his family which was and
continues to be a wonderful blessing.
Great appreciation to James's caretakers during his decline include Mark,
Ben, Lovey, Angelic Hospice, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife June and son-in-law
Anthony Trask. He is survived by two children, LTG ( R ) Jim Richardson
(General Laura) and Julie Trask (Mark); grandchildren: Lauren Richardson
(Rehman) and Hartley Forte (Kevin); great grand-children Anna Richardson
and Elloree Forte.

When I was 13, James informed me that he was twice my age but would never be that again. Took me the longest time to figure that out but it is the way I could remember his age.
