James "Jim" Riche' passed away January 20, 2025 at home after a long battle with heart disease. He always kept a positive attitude and appreciated everyday. Jim was praying aloud when he died, and as a friend said, he finished his prayer in heaven. We know we will see him again because of faith in his Savior.
He was the beloved husband of Kathy Riche' for 57 years. They had two sons Cary (Melissa) and Tim (Christina) and he was very proud of both of them. Jim loved being PawPaw to Zachary, Karlie, James, Samantha and Riley and considered them a blessing.
Jim's career at Union Carbide Corporation was interrupted to serve in the Air Force where he was stationed both in the states and Korea before returning to work as an electrical planner. He attended college at Lamar University and later Delgado in New Orleans.
Jim was a great man of faith, loved people and considered everyone a friend. He was a Chevrolet man but loved any old car or antique associated with them. God, family and country were the pillars he lived by and he will be missed by so many.
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, yes, and well pleased to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
His memorial will be February 8, 2025 at 2PM Mission International Community Center 2575 Veterans Avenue, Hammond. Casual attire, Cruisin the Coast Tshirts and vintage cars welcomed.

I didn't have much interaction with Jim, but his mother-in-law kept me completely informed about him for many years. Jim was very kindly going to pick me up at the airport when I was coming for Clifton's funeral, but my plane didn't arrive that night, so that didn't happen. Jim was a loving, faithful, outgoing, and persevering person. I am sorry for his loss for Katherine and all his loved ones.
